How far along? 20 weeks
Total weight gain: 12#. I’m currently 122#
Maternity clothes: I’m still using my belly bandit with some pants but I finally purchased 3 pairs of maternity jeans, some tops and dresses which I’m excited to start wearing.
Stretch marks: No. Still using Palmer’s cocoa butter and Bio Oil, and once in a while, I’ll lather myself with plain coconut oil after I shower at night. At times, I’ll even mix a few drops of essential lavender oil to help me sleep better.
Sleep: Waking up at least once to go to the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Getting the anatomy scan done and finding out the gender.
First off, I’m still in shock that I’m having a girl. I truly did not have a preference but had been convincing myself that it was going to be a boy because my husbands side of the family is primarily boys. My husband and I had been looking more so at boy names, pinning boy things and just thinking boy all around. When the ultrasound tech told us it’s 100% girl, we were so shocked, we looked at each other in disbelief and my husband got somewhat emotional about having a little girl, which was very cute.
We are being followed at a University Hospital, so we had a researcher come in and be part of the scan for a specific study. As a result, instead of taking 1 hour, we got to see our baby on the screen for about 2 hours!!
Miss anything? My energy, wearing my normal outfits, enjoying my normal foods.
Movement: Yes!! I started feeling significant movement at week 19. It was so cute, during the anatomy scan I would feel her kick and then see her move on the screen 2 seconds later.
Food cravings: Not really!
Anything making you queasy or sick? The same things: coffee, scrambled eggs, chipotle, sweet potatoes, chewable pre-natal vitamins. Scents such as Mrs Meyers room sprays and random things here and there.
Gender: Girl!!
Labour signs: No
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!!
Looking forward to: Register on Sunday, May 15th. It’s going to be so exciting picking out things for the nursery now that we know the gender. It’s getting more and more real. 🙂
